The local culture, traditions and way of life bring colour and liveliness to the experiences of every tourist. Perhaps nobody knows Chitwan Park as well as the Tharu community. This is the local tribe that lived in the park before it was declared a national park in 1972.
An unforgettable memory for every visitor is the ride on an elephant. Wild animals including rhinos, various game species, wild boars and in rare cases also tigers can be observed. The flora and fauna can also be explored by jeep. The open jeep roof provides a panoramic view during the jungle trip.

Bhutan and Nepal: From Tiger’s Nest to Jungle Safari
Private trip through the two Himalayan states Bhutan and Nepal
Day 1: Your round trip through Bhutan and Nepal begins
Your route: Arrival in Kathmandu
The international flight of most travellers goes overnight. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, our driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel. On the first night of your Bhutan and Nepal tour, you will stay in a cosy hotel located just outside the city centre with a large indoor garden and rooms decorated in Nepalese style.
Enjoy the view of Kathmandu from the roof terrace of your hotel, which is only a ten minute walk from the city centre. Here you can relax and refresh yourself from your flight. Then stroll through the centre of Kathmandu, sniff the typical Nepalese atmosphere and look around for a restaurant for the evening. It is especially nice to eat on one of the many roof terraces and watch the hustle and bustle in the alleys and squares.
Day 2: Full of zest for action into the turmoil
Your route: Kathmandu
Today you discover Kathmandu on your own. Visit Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Buddhanath and Swayambunath. Some of the buildings were destroyed by the earthquake, but the buildings have survived and the places are still worth seeing. It is best to take a taxi from one place to another, or arrange a fixed price with a taxi driver for a tour to all places. Of course you can also book a tour including transport and an English speaking guide. Durbar Square is an ideal starting point for exploring the old town.
Here there are numerous temples that stimulate the imagination. Sit on the steps of one of the temples and watch the daily life passing by. Don’t miss the temple complexes of Swayambunath and Pashupatinath, the holiest Hindu pilgrimage resort in Nepal, comparable to Varanasi in India. Also the Buddhanath Temple (a Tibetan Buddhist monument) should not be missed, it is one of the largest stupas in the world. After this intense temple day you will certainly have a better idea of the important role religion plays in the life of the Nepalese.
